Our Testing Process: From Idea to Final Product

When we set out to create the Relief Cap, we knew it had to tick three boxes: comfortable, durable, and truly versatile.
That meant it couldn’t be rushed. We spent months testing and refining the design until it felt just right.
Finding the right gel layer
We began with a single-sided gel layer, but quickly realised it only provided comfort to one area at a time. For full, balanced coverage, we moved to a 360° gel layer design so the soothing effect surrounds your entire head.
The gel we chose is medical-grade, safe for sensitive skin, and can be gently heated or cooled to enhance comfort.
Perfecting the weight and thickness
Through multiple prototypes, we experimented with different gel weights and thicknesses.
Too light, and it didn’t feel grounding enough.
Too heavy, and it was less comfortable for longer wear.
After careful testing (and plenty of family feedback sessions), we found the perfect balance.
Choosing the right outer material
We wanted a fabric that was both soft and durable, gentle enough to wear directly against skin, but strong enough to hold up to regular use. After trying several options, we chose a material that feels luxuriously soft while staying supportive.
Every decision, from the gel layer design to the fabric choice, came from real-world testing in our own home. We didn’t just want to create a product, we wanted to create our favourite product, one we use daily and are proud to share.
